What is the most popular Web series ever?

I was looking at the top 10 most popular Web series in the past 10 years and I was surprised to see how many were still running today, so I started listing them here, but I’m having trouble keeping up with the changes. If you know of any Web series that need to be included, please let me know in the comments below and I’ll be sure to update this list!

The world's first Web series

The award-winning comedy troupe The Lonely Island released their first full-length album, Incredibad, in 2009. The eleven-track record was available as a free download through iTunes and featured songs like Jizz in My Pants and I'm on a Boat. Just three years later, the group released their second album, Turtleneck & Chain. You'll probably recognize songs like Jack Sparrow and I Just Had Sex, which became viral hits on YouTube. Their third album, 2011's Tuxedo, also saw heavy Internet activity as it featured Justin Timberlake. Keep an eye out for their next release-- they're going to do some film work with James Franco next year!

These days, when we hear about web series, it’s typically in reference to some comedy or drama that’s so-so (or great) and you want to binge-watch on your iPad. But let me assure you—there was a time when web series meant something else entirely. And that time was back in 2007 when lonelygirl15 premiered as one of YouTube’s first breakout stars.

Over fifty episodes, Red vs. Blue has garnered a huge and loyal fan base for its use of humor and satire to parody video games and modern war.
